update_plan

Writes or updates the project plan document stored in agent memory. Use when: creating an initial plan, revising scope, or updating the current approach after major decisions. Scope: local filesystem (plan.md in memory dir). No network access. Not for: tracking milestone status (use update_milestones), logging decisions per-session (use memory_checkpoint), or reading the plan back (use restore_session).
