How to connect the Memory Read MCP Tool to Cursor

Retrieves contextually stored facts from previous conversation blocks. This guide provides the exact configuration required to load the memory_read tool inside Cursor.

Step 1: Open the configuration file

Locate and open your Cursor configuration file at the following path:

macOS / Linux~/.cursor/mcp.json

Windows%USERPROFILE%\.cursor\mcp.json

Step 2: Add the server config

Copy and paste the following JSON snippet into the file. Save the file and restart Cursor.
